Fördergelder
Durch verschiedene Fonds und Programme fördert die SAMW, meist in Zusammenarbeit mit privaten Stiftungen, wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs und Forschung im biomedizinischen und klinischen Bereich. Wenn nicht durch ein Legat vorgegeben, sind es Forschungsfelder, die für die Entwicklungen der Medizin und des Gesundheitswesens in der Schweiz wichtig, aber noch wenig etabliert sind.

Käthe-Zingg-Schwichtenberg-Fonds (KZS-Fonds)
Bevor eine nächste Ausschreibung lanciert wird, analysiert die SAMW die Ergebnisse der 2025 durchgeführten Umfrage bei bisherigen Beitragsempfängerinnen und -empfängern des KZS-Fonds, um den Mehrwert des Instruments zu evaluieren.
Théodore-Ott-Fonds
Seit 2022 wird jedes Jahr ein nationales MD-PhD-Stipendium in Neurowissenschaften durch den Ott-Fonds finanziert, solange es die Erträge zulassen.
