Fördergelder
Durch verschiedene Fonds und Programme fördert die SAMW, meist in Zusammenarbeit mit privaten Stiftungen, wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs und Forschung im biomedizinischen und klinischen Bereich. Wenn nicht durch ein Legat vorgegeben, sind es Forschungsfelder, die für die Entwicklungen der Medizin und des Gesundheitswesens in der Schweiz wichtig, aber noch wenig etabliert sind.

Théodore-Ott-Fonds
Das Verwendungsreglement des Théodore-Ott-Fonds wurde 2022 revidiert, um den Nachwuchs in der neurologischen Grundlagenforschung gezielter unterstützen zu können. Jedes Jahr wird ein nationaler MD-PhD-Beitrag in Neurowissenschaften durch den Ott-Fonds finanziert, solange es die Erträge zulassen.

Swiss Personalized Health Network
Im Auftrag des Bundes leitet die SAMW, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, die Umsetzung der Initiative «Swiss Personalized Health Network» (SPHN). Das SPHN trägt zur Entwicklung, Implementierung und Validierung einer koordinierten Dateninfrastruktur bei, um gesundheitsrelevante Daten schweizweit für die Forschung interoperabel und gemeinsam nutzbar zu machen. 2023 gab es keine Ausschreibung und somit keine neuen Zusprachen.
