Fonds SAMW for events, projects and publications

Support of special events and projects
The SAMS supports special events and projects through the taking-over of sponsorships and fundings or by means of financial contributions. Financial assistance is provided in the form of non-reimbursable cash payments, deficit guarantees or payments in kind (e.g. assistance in the organisation of meetings). Sponsorships are taken over idealistically, possibly in combination with financial contributions (deficit guarantees). The taking-over of fundings also always includes financial support and involvement with regard to the content on the part of the SAMS.
Criteria

Thematic reference to activities of the SAMS
Compliance with the guidelines, “Cooperation between the Medical Profession and Industry“
Single events, i.e. not annually recurring events
Comprehensible, traceable budget
Proportionality of the fees for events, i.e. they are not oriented towards profit-making Private, profit-making firms are considered only in exceptional cases.

Support of publications
The SAMS supports publications through financial contributions.
Criteria

Thematic reference to activities of the SAMS
Relevance of the subject for the SAMS (especially medical ethics)
Comprehensible, traceable budget and data on authorship and content
Sales through the book trade (no publications by own publishing house)
As a matter of principle, costs for publications in scientific journals are not covered

General conditions

Mention of the SAMS, by name, in the programme of the meeting and in the publication
Use of the financial contributions in accordance with the instructions
Presentation of a final account
With fundings: Involvement of the SAMS in the creation of the programme
Compliance with the SAMS guidelines

The applications may be submitted at any time. The maximum time required for processing of the applications is two months. As a rule, the maximum amount granted is CHF 5,000.-. Applications for larger amounts must be approved by the Board of Management of the SAMS.
